The ascent up through the corrie is hard going over a very bouldery path. Towards the top of the corrie the going becomes very steep indeed and the final climb is on unpleasantly loose scree.
By this time the knees were really beginning to suffer and co codomal and replaced the jelly beans. Reaching the foot of the glen we crossed the stream to join the path through the Lairig Gartain and followed it right back to the A82. Walking on a level surface for the first time in 6 hours was blissful to say the least. The path allowed for good going where we soon reached the road and made the 1km back to the car at Altnafeidh. Looking over to the Buachaille as you walk back it looks incredibly formidable and it is an amazing feeling to acknowledge that you've just been up there.
