Route description: Meall Ghaordaidh from Glen Lochay Munros included on this walk: Meall Ghaordaidh Time taken: 3.5 hours Distance: 9.5km Ascent: 895m |
Meall Ghaordaidh had been left as a little red balloon among a sea of blue on my personal Walkhighlands hill map, due mostly to the rather unappealing nature of the walk descriptions I’d read. However, it was just over 75 mins from Perth and should only take 4 or 5 hours. Ideal. I met up with John and Lomond (he is the 4 legged one in any subsequent pics !) at Lochearnhead where we jumped in the one motor and headed up through Killin, passing by the stunning falls of Dochart and along the single lane road through Glen Lochay, reaching the widened area of road/layby just over the bridge over the Allt Dhuin Croisg where we parked up around 08.45. The sky was filled with cloud but there was the odd tantalising glimpse of blue to suggest that the weather gods would be on our side today.
